Santa and Friends Nagoya 2012 BBQ!

Dear SFNers and New Volunteers,

Before I begin to talk about the BBQ and say THANKS to all the People who Helped……….I have one announcement and one request.

1) FROM SEPTEMBER 1st we will send event updates and Monthly EMAILS to REGISTERED VOLUNTEERS ONLY!
IF you have not registered and would like to continue to participate with SFN events and activities, PLEASE register online.
The reason we are asking you to register in the SFN website volunteer list is because we have been using our old mailing list which has many people who are no longer in Japan or not involved with SFN. Many mails bounce back as failures. Also we have a wonderful website and database for SFN so we would like to make things more efficient and easier to use! Please help us do this!

We are cleaning out our database of old names and non active volunteers. To Register go the following links:

2) We would like to have more Japanese content on the website, so I have created a number of documents with the site content that need to be translated.
We are looking for a number of people who could help translate.. Not just one person doing all the work, but a group effort.
This will make the website much easier to navigate through for all members. If you can help with some translation, please send me a quick email and in the subject line please write………….I will help translate the website. We would really appreciate your help.

NOW!!!!!! FINALLY THANK YOU ALL!!!!!

I would like to continue by saying THANK YOU to all the wonderful people who were able to come out to the SFN July 15th BBQ on Sunday.

We had a fantastic day and the smiles and laughter from the 90+ children (AND VOLUNTEERS) (150+ people total) was proof enough that all had a great time. Also just a quick note to say, we broke even exactly. All costs were covered by all of your BBQ fees! Fantastic!!!

A special note of thanks to all the people who put in so much effort and helped to make the BBQ a success.

Those who………

…..Gathered to help prepare with the BBQ preparation (planning, food, and organization),
…..Came out early in the morning to help carry things and help set up the BBQ,
…..Helped with the preparation of food, drinks and BBQing,
…..Helped with the various activities – Egg Toss, Tug-a-War, Dancing, Cricket, and the Water Balloon finale
…..Stayed until the end to help clean up the BBQ site and Carry things to the Van,
…..helped me unload all the BBQ stuff and return the rental van,
…..Brought various BBQ items for the event,

We REALLY APPRECIATE ALL YOUR EFFORTS!!!

This is what SFN is all about.

Also to all the people who invited new people to the event, thank you!
It is really great to have new people come out and see what SFN is all about. And of course it is the continued effort of our volunteers that makes SFN so great! Many of the new people who came to the BBQ were not signed up as volunteers, so we cannot send this email to them to say thanks.

Those of you who introduced new people, could you please forward this to them to say thanks.
Also I would again like to request that all attendees in the future are signed up as volunteers on the SFN website.

As I mentioned above, we will be sending updates to only registered members and volunteers from September 1.

I hope you all enjoyed the wonderful day as much as I did!

We will be creating an online photo / video gallery that you can access with a volunteer membership password.

SFNボランティアのみなさん

先日のBBQに参加いただいた方たちへお礼を言う前に････みなさんにお知らせとお願いがあります。

1) これまでは過去にご登録頂いたメーリングアドレスを利用しみなさんにSFNからの連絡を送ってきました。9月1日よりSFNのホームページに登録した方のみにSFNからの連絡がいくことになります。これまで過去4年間のボランティア登録がありますが、有効でないメールアドレスなども多々あります。今回ウェブサイトも立ち上がったということで、ボランティア登録管理を少し強化したいと思います。

SFNウェブサイトにご登録頂いたボランティアのみにSFNからの連絡が配信されますので、ボランティア登録されるかたは以下よりお願いします。（SFNイヴェントにご参加頂く全ての方には、まずはこちらでボランティア登録をしていただきます。）

2) せっかく立ち上げたSFNウェブサイトですが、まだまだ日本語ページが追いつきません。そこで、少しずつで結構なので、英語ページの日本語訳をお願いしたいと思います。既にいくつかにページを分けて翻訳を手伝ってもらう準備はしています！ 何人かで手分けをしていただけると翻訳の負担も軽くなります。日本語ページができると今後もっとたくさんの方たちにSFNを知っていただけるよい機会になります。手伝ってくれるボランティアはSFNまでメールでご連絡ください。その際は件名を I will help translate the website（ウェブサイト翻訳手伝います！）.とご記入くださいね。

やっと、みなさんへのお礼を伝えたいと思います！！

数日前までは雨を懸念していたにもかかわらず、15日のBBQはとてもよい天気に恵まれ、BBQは大成功に終わりました。みなさん、お疲れさまでした！

参加人数は4つの養護施設から子どもが合計86人、スタッフのみなさんが15人、そしてSFNボランティア、その友達が49人の総合計150人！！ みなさんの笑顔と笑い声がいっぱいの素晴らしい1日でした。

ご参加頂いたみなさんからの参加費でちょうど今回のBBQの費用に充てることが出来ました。赤にならずに済みました。（笑）

BBQを大成功にしてくれたみなさんに感謝します。

本当にお疲れ様でした！！

こうしてみんなでやり遂げることが出きる、これでこそSFNですね！

そしてご友人等をお連れ頂いたみなさん、ありがとうございました。ご参加頂いた方でSFNのボランティアに登録されてない方にはこのメールが届かないので、お礼を伝えておいてください。
SFNに新しい仲間ができることは素晴らしいです。そしてこうしたみなさんの継続的な努力があってこそSFNは素晴らしくあり続けることができるのですね。

初頭でお伝えしたように、9月1日よりSFNのウェブサイトでボランティア登録をされた方のみにSFNからのメールは配信されますのでご注意ください。
