Dear Supporters of Santa and Friends Nagoya
Santa and Friends Nagoya was officially formed in January, 2009, however this is the 9th year we have been visiting 4 local Nagoya orphanages. The concept of SFN was first started back in 2004 under a different name to celebrate Christmas, spread a little holiday cheer, and bring a few smiles to many children’s and volunteer’s faces. From 2009, the Smile Foundation and the Rainbow Foundation joined forces to create Santa and Friends Nagoya.
Each year with the assistance of over 100 volunteers, and very generous sponsors, we bring together 200+ orphans from 4 different orphanages for an amazing full day Christmas celebration extravaganza. Christmas games, magicians, musicians, story-telling, interactive activities, crafts and cookie decorating are just a few of the activities offered to the children. The Christmas event has been our key event each and every year however from 2011 we decided to become more involved and interactive with each orphanage to develop closer relationships with the children.
2013 has passed very quickly and Santa and Friends Nagoya is still going strong.
We have been very active with the different orphanages on a monthly basis and many of our volunteers continue to give their time and efforts to the children. Each month we have been providing English lessons, music lessons, dance lessons, study support, and over all support to the children as well as visiting and joining the various festivals and events the different orphanages host each year.
We continue to grow as an organization and would very much appreciate your support to enable us to continue to do this.
In addition to the monthly activities, annual BBQ, and annual Christmas event, we are also now supporting the orphanages directly with much needed items such as heaters, air conditioners, shelving, and other much needed items. Also as each year sees a number of children reaching the age to graduate and leave the facilities, we decided to provide each young adult with needed items to get their lives started as a member of society.
We will be printing the 2013 Santa and Friends Nagoya T-shirts in the next 2 weeks and would love to include your logo on the shirt once again this year. We will be contacting you in the next week to confirm your logo and sponsorship of SFN this year.
