Our annual SFN Christmas Event held on December 10th was very successful. We would like to thank all of you for your wonderful support and cooperation.
Over 160 children from 5 different orphanages gathered at our Christmas event this year with the welcoming live-music played by Sound Web.
This year's Christmas event was in combination with a theme - Just like the Tokyo Olympic Games in 2020. Therefore, not only it began with a marching by all the children representing each country, but also they eagerly participated in sport-activities such as Obstacle Course, Tama-ire (Throwing balls into baskets), Tug A War and Relay, and the winners were given gold, silver and bronze medals at the awards ceremony, not to mention that all the children were given their long-awaited Christmas gifts from our Santa Clause in the end. We could not have done any of these without you!
One other thing to note this year was that we had volunteers from 20 different countries and we highly appreciate your invaluable effort to purchase gifts for the children, attending our pre-meetings, preparing each country's flag and quizzes, making balloons, face-painting and getting up super early on the day for the preparation of our lunch. Thank you very very much!
While your continuous support has kept and will keep all the children smiling, SFN will continue to thrive together with you. Our very first meeting as well as Shinnen-kai (New Year's party) will take place on January 20th (Sat). We will inform you about it with more details early next month, so please stay tuned.
In closing, we would like to express our sincerest gratitude for your support and cooperation. We are looking forward to working with you again next year.

ＳＦＮボランティアの皆さまへ
１２月１０日に開かれました恒例のＳＦＮクリスマスイベントは大成功に終わりました。皆さまのたゆまないご支援・ご協力により本イベントが成功しましたこと、心より感謝申し上げます。
本年のクリスマスイベントでは、５つの児童養護施設から１６０人超の子供たちが集まり、サウンドウェブによる素晴らしい生演奏でスタートしました。
「２０２０年東京オリンピックのように」を今回のテーマに掲げて、各国のグループに別れた子供たちによる入場行進から始まり、障害物リレー、玉入れ、綱引き、国別対抗リレーという４種目の競技を行いましたが、参加した子供たちの意気込みは今まで以上で、金、銀、銅メダル、懸賞品やサンタクロースからのプレゼントをいっぱい手にした子供たちの笑顔を見ることができ、私達も大変光栄に思っております。
また、本年ご参加いただいたボランティアの出身国が２０カ国以上に及び、子供たちへのプレゼント購入や、事前ミーティングへのご出席、国旗の作成準備、各国に関するクイズ作成、アートバルーン、フェイスペインティング、当日早朝から美味しいランチの支度などなど、子供たちが笑顔になるサポートを皆さまからたくさん頂きました！
ＳＦＮは各施設の子供たちの成長を今後も末永く見守りつつ、こういったボランティア活動を皆さまと共に継続していく所存でございます。
少し時間が空いてしまうかもしれませんが、来年最初のＳＦＮミーティング・新年会を、２０１８年１月２０日（土）に開催する予定です。詳細は後日連絡いたしますので、是非ともご参加ください。
